Orra: refinishing a stair so it matches the new floor
The stain on the finished Orra stair didn't match the new floor beside it. James explains why he refinished the whole stair anyway, and stands by his work.

So whenever you're doing a large-scale renovation like this, you're always going to come into some problems. One of those problems happened here on the stairs. We've already finished these stairs.
The homeowner did approve the colour of the stain. But after all the stairs were finished and we put our floor beside it, it doesn't match. And I'm not happy with the match.
The homeowner's not happy with the match. So as a contractor who cares about his final product and who wants to make sure everyone's happy at the end, I'm going to stand by my work and I'm going to rectify this situation and we're going to refinish these stairs to the perfect match.
