Who is responsible
This website belongs to Jarvis Contracting Inc., of Ajax, Ontario. James Jarvis is responsible for the personal information it collects. Write to him at james@jarviscontracting.ca about anything on this page.
What the enquiry form collects
Your name, email address, town, optional phone number and message, including any project details you choose to share. With it we keep the page you sent it from and any campaign tags in the link that brought you here. To stop spam we also keep your browser's user agent and a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address, never the address itself.
Why we collect it
To reply to you about your project, and, if you hire us, to plan and run the job. We don't sell it, rent it or use it for anything else without asking you, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
Who else handles it, and where
The site runs on Cloudflare, which stores enquiries in its database, sends the email to James and runs the spam check on the form. Cloudflare's servers may be outside Canada, where that country's laws apply. The platform that serves the site, cite-met, counts visits. Google Analytics counts visits and the pages people read, using cookies. Each of them handles the information only to provide that service.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit from the next. You can block or delete them in your browser; the enquiry form still works without them.
How long we keep it
As long as we need it to reply to you and, if you hire us, for the records the job and the law require. Ask us to delete an enquiry that didn't become a job and we will.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw your consent or have it deleted, subject to any record we're required to keep. Email james@jarviscontracting.ca. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date.
