Greenwood details: the floor, the fireplace and the kitchen
James on the herringbone floor and its transitions, then Ceara on the custom details at Greenwood: pocket doors, a curved island and a lime-washed fireplace.

So for this project we decided to use a luxury vinyl herringbone floor. Not only is it cost effective, it's very durable, but one thing is that it needs to expand and contract. So our transitions between different types of floors has to be a certain way.
We decided to use a solid wood vinyl overlap floor, stained to match the floor, and it provides a very luxury look. The design process of this home was very unique because although it's a very big project, we wanted it to feel very custom and detailed. So we brought a lot of those elevated detail designs throughout our molding on our cabinets, through the hardware that we used for these custom pocket doors, for the curves on our island, and also in the colours and textures that we've used throughout the home.
Lime washing the fireplace, an organic Taj Mahal stone for the fireplace that is mitered. We made very custom door designs for our TV area. So there's a lot of intricate design that went into this.
Intentional design was very important in the footprint of this home. Designing for a family of four, we had to make the space very functional, with lots of practicality in the storage, as well as focusing on the flow of the home. We wanted an island with an overhang.
We also wanted a spacious dining area. So we really had to work with that compact footprint in order to give our clients the best and the most of the storage.
