Greenwood homeowner: why she'd recommend Jarvis Contracting
A Greenwood homeowner in Toronto on hiring Jarvis Contracting: one meeting, a WhatsApp group for questions, surprises explained, and the job done as promised.
Transcript
So we had heard about James Jarvis and Jarvis Contracting through a friend who had used him for a renovation. So we met with him, we went over what our vision was and we talked through things, and we actually didn't talk to any other contractors. Based on that initial meeting, and all of the reviews we had had from our friend and his relatives, we felt really good about moving ahead and using Jarvis Contracting.
The most important piece was that I could rely on someone to keep the project on track and reasonably within budget. I don't have a lot of time to be managing that, and I felt from the beginning that the communication was really on point. The managing of my expectations, responding to concerns, to questions, along with obviously the reviews that we had had, made me feel really confident moving forward.
So right from the beginning we were put into a WhatsApp group, and at the time I probably didn't realize how helpful that was. Anytime I needed a question... I would try to save them until the morning, but if I had one late at night I would put one in, and it was always answered. And I felt like I was given those different options. My pricing concerns were, you know, met, and we can move forward.
So my next-door neighbour, who is a handyman, he really has a lot of expertise in this area. He's done little renovations throughout his entire house and for friends, and he did a walkthrough of the house before we moved back in. Seeing, you know, how much he appreciated all of those little details, the craftsmanship, the workmanship and everything, through his eyes, was really validating for me in terms of the entire project and process.
You know, you're always going to run into surprises when you tear down walls. And for me the most important thing is being able to communicate the surprises, being able to manage expectations, being transparent, and delivering on what you say you're going to do. And all of those conditions were met throughout the whole process.
I would hands down recommend Jarvis Contracting to someone.
