Reviews of Jarvis Contracting

Amazing work! We’ve worked with Jarvis Contracting twice now. Both times exceeded expectations. Thorough, concise, and professional.

Job 1 - Interior:

Upstairs flooring, closets, and new stairs were amazing. Our home is 125 years old - nothing is level. Challenges inevitably arise through reno’s. James and his team were detailed throughout the whole process with good communication and helped tackle any hurdles along the way.

Job 2 - Exterior:

New shed (it’s nice!), exterior stairs, and skirting around a deck. Outside is looking fresh.

The attention to detail is huge. The crew working on our home were courteous and friendly and my wife felt safe being home alone with them.

Highly recommend Jarvis Contracting! Can’t wait for our next project.

We had a fantastic experience working with James and the team at Jarvis Contracting Inc. They handled the drywall work as well as several other repairs on the property, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish.

James and his team were professional, polite, efficient, and incredibly trustworthy throughout the project. Not only was the quality of the work excellent, but they actually finished ahead of schedule, which was a huge bonus. They also kept the worksite very clean and organized the entire time, which we greatly appreciated.

It’s not always easy to find contractors who are reliable, communicative, and take real pride in their work, but Jarvis Contracting absolutely delivered. We would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality contracting and repair work.

No matter the task, the Jarvis team was always up for the challenge. They went above and beyond, delivering high-quality work and even fixing issues that were not part of the initial agreement at no extra cost. Communication was impeccable, and even though I didn’t have the chance to visit the house often, they consistently kept me updated with photos and videos of the progress.

We’re absolutely thrilled with the renovation of our main floor by Jarvis Contracting. James and his team were amazing to work with and were professional, friendly, and really skilled at what they do. The project was finished on time, even with a few unexpected surprises hiding behind our old walls, and with no sacrifice to the quality of workmanship.

James was upfront and honest from day one. He walked us through every issue that popped up (like finding asbestos on our pipes and some precarious electrical work from a previous owner) and clearly explained the costs and rationale behind each fix. We always felt informed and confident in the process.

Now that it’s all done, we couldn’t be happier. The space looks fantastic, and we have peace of mind knowing our home is safe. We’d highly recommend Jarvis Contracting to anyone planning a renovation, big or small. Great people, great work, and an incredible result!

We could not be happier following the main floor renovation of our new home by James and the Jarvis Contracting team! We decided to work with James after seeing his completed projects, receiving an exceptionally detailed quote & glowing references from other clients. Our renovation included removal of structural walls, relocation of the kitchen and fireplace, refinishing staircase & all new lighting & flooring throughout the home. The transformation is beautiful & amazing! Throughout the process, we had full confidence in James & the team who are very skilled and experienced with projects of this size/scope. Their problem solving ability, workmanship and attention to detail is excellent and I would highly recommend Jarvis Contracting for any renovation project you might be considering. We are so happy with the end result! Thanks James!

We recently had our primary ensuite bathroom renovated by Jarvis Contracting, and we are absolutely thrilled with the results! James and his team were professional, communicative, and incredibly skilled throughout the entire process. He truly listened to what we wanted and brought our vision to life - we now have our dream bathroom.

My partner and I hired James and his team to renovate our new home; main floor kitchen, paint etc...To start, we are beyond ecstatic with the results. James is highly knowledgeable and always gave us options to help us remain on budget where possible. The quality of the work is a work of art and craftmanship. Most importantly, he and his team and a consistent mindset of always "getting it done right" and "getting it done perfectly" which we appreciated very much. He kept us informed along each milestone and ensured that we were aligned to every decision that had to be made and providing recommendations as well that may be beneficial for us. My partner and I can be very 'particular' and James was very accommodating on all aspects. Thank you James and your team for going above and beyond to ensure every detail is perfect. We couldn't be any happier with our home!

Jarvis contracting did an outstanding job, delivering everything to a high standard. Their work was amazing, and I would definitely recommend them to friends and family!

James and his team did phenomenal work would definitely go to them again

James and his team worked well and quickly. I would definitely use them again for any renovations.

I cannot say enough about James and his team. They are respectful, efficient, hard-working and thorough. We consulted James about our basement nightmare, renovated in 1997 as a play area for the kids and used as a huge storeroom from about 2003 to 2023. We kept intending to do something but could not pull the trigger. Finally in December 2023 we asked James to come take a look, along with some other contractors. Working with his designer, after speaking to us about what we liked and didn't like, they presented a plan that the moment we saw it achieved everything we wanted. Then he went ahead and did the job!! Everyone he brought in from plumbers, electricians, tile guys to drywall and tape guys to cabinet companies did everything they could to make us happy and bring that plan to life. We love our space now and have doubled the size of the living area in our home that brings us joy. The fact that James and Ceara bring the practical and the design together, and know how to achieve it, just eliminates so much stress and doubt in the process. So happy we went with Jarvis!

James and his crew are high quality contractors that get the job done. They finished our bathroom in a timely fashion. They take all of the guess work out and deliver a clean finished project. We will definitely be using them in future projects.

This team is phenomenal! On time, professional, a lot of patience for our questions, and they really care about quality and the customer. We had a great experience

Great communication, very professional workers who are attentive to detail. The painter we hired was amazed at the quality work of the drywall installation. Our basement has been completely transformed. They had great suggestions for aesthetic appeal and consulted with us every step of the way. I would highly suggest working with jarvis, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent contractor, would use again and have recommended Jarvis to others. Always timely and responsive to questions and issues, on time for meetings, very communicative. Love the on line app to track day to day progress with daily pictures, clear process for approval of changes and to monitor budget. A joy to work with!

Jarvis did a fantastic job with our major bathroom renos and an addition to our house. They were professional, reasonably priced and completed the work in the time frame we had discussed. We are very happy with their work!

After considerable research and meetings with various contractors, I contracted Jarvis Contracting Inc for my home extension project, I found them highly professional, honest and knowledgable. Their prices are reasonable compared to industry standards. Their work quality is great and they have full confidence during town inspections.

They are very cooperative in dealings with home owner during construction process. I really admire their understanding and collaboration with town inspectors, engineers and home owners.

As with all home extension projects, there are numerous challenges and how the contractor deals with these challenges shows the skill and professionalism of the contractor. Jarvis contracting Inc met these challenges with great success. During these challenges, they come up with brilliant solutions and resolves any issues superbly.

Overall, I am very happy with their services and fully recommend them for any home extension project whether small or large.

Regarding the recent outdoor kitchen and back deck, we wanted something unique and special that worked with our pool and landscaping. They took the time to understand our vision, made great recommendations and worked with us to customize something unique that was within our budget. The end result was a beautiful quality job that our family enjoys all year long.

Jarvis Contracting renovated both our main and ensuite bathroom completely. They converted our ensuite/small walk in closet to a large ensuite and built wall to wall his and her walk in closets. We are extremely pleased with the renovation and quality of the work. They are extremely professional and were very responsive to our needs.

It is our pleasure to highly recommend Jarvis Contracting Services. During April of 2017 my husband and I contracted Ian Jarvis of Jarvis Contraction Services to construct a wheelchair accessible bathroom in our basement. From start to finish we found Ian and James Jarvis to be very professional. Ian managed the project thoroughly with attention to detail. James has a great ability to balance both creativity and flexibility. We found them to be hard workers who demonstrated exceptional tradesman’s skills. The construction was completed on budget in a timely manner. The construction site and tracking areas were kept both safe and clean. All of the tradesmen introduced in association with Jarvis Contraction Services were highly skilled, and we appreciated the respectful manner. Ian and James satisfied all our expectations and more. Ian was great. We worked with Ian to renovate two bathrooms. He did what he said he would do, how he said he would do it, within the time he estimated and at the cost he quoted. He is professional and capable, making suggestions and giving advice based on his depth of knowledge. We would not hesitate to hire him again for any job, big or small. I absolutely love both bathrooms, he did an amazing job, I can't believe they are the same rooms - they are transformed!!

Jan 10th, 2016. MASTER SUITE RENOVATION PROJECT.

I was hesitant to call this company as they did a lot of big Projects and I was looking for a simple washroom removing a regular bathtub and replacing it with a whirlpool-jaccuzi tub and a stand-up shower with glass enclosure updating the Faucets and proper tiling using shluter System for my house in Pickering. From the outset, IAN JARVIS was very professional. He was prompt, respectful, and very clear. Once we signed the contract, Ian Jarvis and his team were outstanding with a project charter outlining everyones responsibility. They communicated with us on every level and every decision that needed to be made. The guys were professional, neat, and courteous. Timelines were met, and the quality of the work was great. I was thoroughly impressed with the way JARVIS CONTRACTING SERVICES does business. I strongly recommend this company, and I will definitely be using them when I am ready to do other Projects in the House. Thank You JCS for making it happen on time and done right.

We commissioned Jarvis Contracting to construct an addition to our home. We met numerous times prior to beginning construction to finalize the details.

Ian was very professional, timely, never late, meticulous and paid attention to every detail.

Construction was completed on time and on budget.

Quality of workmanship was of the highest standard.

Ian is very amenable and we would hire him again.

We get rave reviews from all our visitors.
